A 19th century portrait oil on canvas depicting a captain of the Grenadier Guards Regiment wearing scarlett tunic of the 1856 pattern. To his collar gold bullion embroidery with a flaming grenade device and a bullion crown denoting captain. To his left shoulder he wears a state sash of Crimson and gold, correct as per dress regulations of this period - approx. 47cm high x 43cm wide (with frame) and 26.5cm high x 20cm wide without frame
