The work is fully restored condition and has been relined, cleaned, restored and varnished probably in the 1970s or '80s, there has also been some water damage in the lower right hand corner of the painting and there is some slight paint shrinkage and craqelure in places, the work has discoloured varnish and dirt to the surface, however, there is good thick impasto in places, contained within a replacement 1960s or '70s outer gilt plaster and wooden frame.
