Mardon, Son & Hall - c1930s - Unproduced Cigarette Card Series - x9 hand painted mixed media paintings, likely unused ideas for the 1939 Ardath 'Stamps, Rare And Interesting,' series of cigarette cards, each to a varying degree of finalising - some with overlays, some unfinished. Each design featuring a 'rare stamp' with the country of origin or a related scene alongside. Hand painted by artists from Mardon, Son & Hall. Artwork size approx: 5cm x 9cm. Along with two printer's proof strips for the Ardath series of cards, used during production to check colours / printing errors.
