1782 Club buttons. Three gilt coatee buttons '1782' in relief surrounded by sprays of shamrock, 1" (2.3cm) diameter, by Chas. Clancy Dublin.

The 1782 Club was founded in 1844 by Repeal Movement activists, including William Smith O'Brien, Thomas Francis Meagher, and Thomas Davis. Daniel O'Connell became its president. Club members attended public meetings and festivals in dark green uniform adorned with gold lace and these gilt buttons.
