A Pierre Abel-Nau "Le Phenix" slot counter top slot machine / music box, c.1903, wooden case decorated with instructional brass plaques, glazed dial shows shields depicting flags of the world, with hand in the form of an arrow, above a lower music box, with a glazed front, 56 x 78 x 30cm, upon inserting a coin and pulling the lever, music would play, on the occurrence of a winning spin tokens (either silver or gold in colour) would be dispensed which could be redeemed to the vendor for a number of items including drinks, money and others, side mounted removable cash box with keys
