PAIR OF "M" COVERS TO ITALIAN STATES WITH G.B. 4d (TO GENOA) OR 1d+2d (TO CATANIA); Fine 26 June/31 July 1858 pair of ELs from Malta (different blue oval firms' marks on the front) to Genoa/Catania with GB 4d Rose-Carmine (filing crease) tied by v. fine barred "M" or with GB 1d Red + 2d Blue 'Stars' both tied by a "MESSINA" transit d.s. and both cancelled by mainly fine barred "M" cancels; the first with v. fine red oval-framed Malta "P-D." and mainly fin red "PIROSCAFI/POSTALI/FRANCESI" marks on the front, the other with red oval Malta "P." and m/s "13" arrival charge.
