AN EASTERN & SOUTH AFRICAN TELEGRAPH COMPANY PRESENTATION CASE, comprising nine mounted samples of the Zanzibar-Seychelle-Mauritius Cable 1893, each piece mounted with
corresponding metal collars for the engraved plaque and identification key for ‘Shore Ends,
Types AA & E, Intermediate Type B, Deep Sea type D’ as used by the contractors ‘Telegraph
Construction and Maintenance Company, London’ to lay the 2310 nautical mile communications
cable, in a glazed walnut table top case.

NB The Eastern & South African Telegraph Company later became Cable and Wireless.
