A 19th century tortoiseshell and gilt metal mantel clock, with French style Roman enamel numerals, gilt dial, sun pendulum, the serpentine case with gilt metal mounts and seated putti surmount, raised on gilt metal scroll feet, the movement by J. Marti et Cie, Medaille de Bronze and numbered 88086, striking on a gong, 16in. (40.5cm.) high. * Condition: Slight upper surface marks to tortoiseshell, mainly around corners and edges, the top of case with restoration to one upper corner where putti is attached (back left), two splits to tortoiseshell where scroll feet attached with screws (bottom front), movement good.
