An Imperial German artillery officer’s sword, plated pipe backed blade 32½”, DE at point, by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum Solingen, etched with crowned R Arms and supporters on one side and crowned FR cypher in wreath on the other, in short stylized gilt panels, with “Eisenhauer” below the cypher, gilt hilt, with lion’s head quillon, crossguard and langets bearing crossed cannon on one side and plain escutcheon on the other, pronounced stirrup knucklebow embossed with crowned R Arms in stylized foliate scrolls, lion’s head pommel, foliate backstrap and lower band, wirebound fishskin grip, in its (repainted) black steel scabbard with single ring. GC, the blade good (hilt regilt).
