Attributed to Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich (German, 1712-1774), "Portrait of a Spanish Lady draped for the Carnival", oil on canvas, 18th century carved and gilded Carlo Maratta frame, 27 x 21½in. (68.6 x 54.6cm.). * Provenance: Typed label on reverse "Portrait of a Spanish Lady draped for the Carnival. Dietrich Christian. 1712-1744 (sic). Bought by Lord Colborne from R. Reinagh, 1820 for 40 guineas. Lent to the British Institution in 1829".
*Condition: Canvas lined. 3/4 inch tear in the canvas through to the lining canvas upper left arm. Light surface dirt and uneven varnish.
