Castella Cigars - a piece of detailed, mixed media, original artwork created by British artist Eric Bottomley for the set of 10 cigarette card series 'Golden Era' issued by W.D. & H.O. Wills in 1999. Featuring the card no.1 'Glasgow Tram'. Accompanied by the printed cigarette card. Signed to the bottom and mounted. Measuring approximately 30 cm x 42 cm including the mount.
Eric Bottomley studied arts and crafts at Oldham School of Art, leaving in 1964 to work in Manchester as a commercial artist. In 1974 he moved to Dorset to continue as a freelance artist, to devote more time to oil painting. He joined the Guild of Railway Artists in 1979, later to become a full member.
