James II (1685-1688), Halfcrown, 1686 SECVNDO, fi rst laureate and draped bust left, reverse crowned cruciform shields, seven strings to harp, downwards lett ered edge, (ESC 494; Bull 749; S.3408). Choice extremely fi ne and probably about as struck for the issue. Reverse particularly well struck. Iridescent toning with fl ashes of blue/olive hues. Superb eye appeal and far bett er than usual.
