HUGO VILFRED PEDERSEN (1870-1959). A figure holding a box Sitar, indistinctly signed, oil on canvas, 39 x 22in. Provenance: In the possession of a Danish family in Copenhagen c. 1935, thence by family descent.
Pedersen spent a number of years travelling in the Far East as well as India. The artist appears to have painted at least one other version of this subject, cf Bonhams, London, Oct 26, 2020, Lot 210
