Vinyl & Memorabilia / Autographs - Elvis Presley - A rare chance to purchase all five of the Sun Records released singles including two that feature SAMPLE stamps, along with a signed promo card inscribed ‘Love Me Tender’ signed both sides. The singles are:
1. That’s All Right / Blue Moon Of Kentucky (SUN 209) vinyl is VG+ with some degradation/losses to the edge, along with some marks and light scratches. Label is EX overall with slight scuff/loss to side A at 4 O’clock, brown sleeve has split seam to one side and small tears along opening, it is also stamped with a ‘Remember Elvis Day’ stamp to top left, and another stamp to the bottom right which is significantly faded but believed to say ‘Gary Pepper, Memphis’ (Gary Pepper was a close friend of the family and Elvis bought him a home as well as employing his father as a gate guard at Graceland). To the bottom left there is a hand written note which reads “Merry Xmas. Me Too. Fay” possibly relating to Elvis’s friend, the actress Joan Fay.
2. Good Rockin’ Tonight / I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine (SUN 210) vinyl is VG+ with some light scuffs and scratches but none that would be likely to effect play. Label is EX overall although does have hand written A2 on both sides. This is mis-press label with Ray Brown credit for Good Rockin’ Tonight rather than Roy Brown. Brown paper sleeve has significant tears and losses.
3. Milkcow Blues Boogie / You’re A Heartbreaker (SUN 215) vinyl is VG overall but side A has two small (2mm length each) deep scratches, and side B has a crack/chip from the edge but not quite reaching the start of the track. Labels are EX and both sides have red SAMPLE stamps. Brown paper sleeve is in EX condition (possibly a later replacement) and also has a SAMPLE COPY stamp.
4. Baby Let’s Play House / I’m Left, You’re Right, She’s Gone (SUN 217) vinyl is VG+ with light marks and scratches but nothing likely to effect play. Labels are EX. Brown sleeve EX with some biro writing to top right of one side.
5. Mystery Train / I Forgot To Remember To Forget (SUN 223) Vinyl VG+ with light scratches and marks on both sides but none that would be likely to effect play. Label is EX and has red SAMPLE stamps to both sides. Brown paper sleeve has rips/tears to opening and seam split all the way down one side. Printed to top left ‘ELVIS PRESLEY 8/1/55’ in black, with ‘ASCAP’ red stamp directly underneath. Top centre under opening has printed ‘MYSTERY TRAIN’ and directly underneath I FORGOT TO REMEMBER
Signed promotional photograph of Elvis measuring 13.5cm x 8.7cm signed to the front by Elvis Presley in blue biro and with the red RCA stamp. On the reverse hand written ‘Love me tender’ and is also signed by Elvis Presley. To the top left of the reverse is a hand written note ‘ Nov(?) 56’.
Condition of all records is based on visual inspection only and some haze and crackle is to be expected.
