1941 2d imperf single on cover (SG 488c)
1941 2d Pale orange (SG488c). Envelope roughly opened at top sent from Cardiff to Devonport, bearing an imperforate single tied by a slogan cancellation for FE.7.1950. Apparently from an imperforate booklet purchased in Cardiff by a sailor's wife, who used four of the imperforate stamps on letters to her husband, three of which appear to have been offered since. Roughly torn around edges as to be expected on such an error. Rare. SG488var.
