U.S. CONGRESS REPORT ILLUSTRATING BRITISH '1844-TYPE' NUMERALS (QUOTING JOSHUA LEAVITT); Fine 98-page printed U.S. "House of Representatives" "REPORT" from their "Committee on the [U.S.] P.O. & Post Roads" (ex binding in 2 sections; pp.67-98 separated from pp.1-66) ref. 1840s petitions in the U.S. for "a reduction of postages on letters and newspapers". The Report is only 7 pages long but is then followed by a full reprint of the text (and illustrations of British 1844-Type Numerals) of the famous American Postal Reformer, Joshua Leavitt's "Cheap Postage Association of Boston" 1848 pamphlet entitled "Cheap Postage" which extensively quoted Rowland Hill's ideas in support of cheap postage in the States.
