A mid-late Victorian W. Walker & Sons mahogany occasional table, with shaped, stepped top, the apron inlaid with a marquetry ribbon, floral and foliate design in lighter wood (possibly satinwood), with double-curving legs, the knees carved with stylised acanthus leaves, and with futher curving components joining centrally at a small secondary table, mounted on brass castors, the underside with label reading W.WALKER & SONS, MANUFACTURER, LONDON, BUNHILL ROW E.C., 70.5cm high, 84.5cm widest.

FOOTNOTE: W. Walker & Sons were a prestigious cabinetmaker established in 1848 in Shoreditch, then the heart of London's furniture making area. They subsequently opened a showroom on Bunhill Row.

Condition: Seemingly intact and sturdy, but in need of a good clean to remove mildew, spider's webs and grime from years of storage. One 8.5cm (approx) part of moulding missing from bottom of apron as photographed.
