A rare two tone Guernsey pictorial stoneware flagon, by Port Dundas Pottery Glasgow, with black transfer 'E.B.Spilsbury & Co. Manufacturers of High Class Temperance Beverages Mont Arrive Guernsey Trade Mark Dum Spiro Spero' (within a crossed rope), half gallon size, 26 cm high. * The Latin 'Dum Spiro Spero' translates as 'While I Breath I Hope' which has connotations towards the Religious Temperance Society which was promoted by Guernsey Methodists and this early non-alcoholic health drink which was retailed by this company and contained in this rare flagon.
