A large Burmese bronze buddha, seated in dhyanasana with hands placed in bhumisparsha mudra, sat upon a plinth and wearing partially draped robes, 51cm high (at fault)
The piece shows a loss to the base approximately 16cm wide, with a casting crack extending from the loss for approximately 3cm vertically and then spreading along the bottom edge of the figure for approximately 5cm, with a further crack extending from the loss at approximately 2 o'clock for approximately 10cm. The left hand shows evidence of repair. The piece shows various patches of grey residue. The lower part of the piece shows a build up of dirt and corrosion, as does the hair (see photos).
