AN EXCEPTIONAL PAIR OF HAND OAK LOUIS XIII STYLE CARVED ARM CHAIRS, circa 1880, with carved leaf & tendril crest rail over an upholstered upper back panel and four serpentine shaped uprights, held between turned barley twist uprights with carved floral blocks and turned finial tops, the arms with a padded & upholstered elbow rest finish with carved scroll ends raised on barley twist uprights, the seat with an upholstered centre is framed with a gadrooned edge, all raised on barley twist legs united by barley twist stretchers. A fine pair. Dimensions: 130 x 68 x 64cm (H x W x D) Height to seat: 44cm.
