Pair of signed Japanese Satsuma bottle-shaped vases of large form, Meiji period (1868 - 1912), possibly from the Kinkozan Studio, decorated with all over foliage in typical colours, character marks to the lower, 32cm high, on ebonised stands, the interiors have later wooden inserts for lamps, the exteriors have not been altered, 32cm high.  (2)

There are losses to the gilding at the rim to one vase. Small chip to the rim of the same example. Minor losses to the gilding at the rim of the second vase. Minor age-related crazing to both with minor age-related losses to the gilding to the neck and body of both vases. Good patina and detail to both.
