New Land Pattern .650 Flintlock Tower Armouries Service Pistol marked to The Queen's Own Royal Yeomanry Cavalry (Dorset Yeomanry). Circa 1815, with 9 inch barrel, moulded band at breech, squared top tang, borderline engraved Flat India Pattern Lock signed 'TOWER' on the tail, crown and 'G.R.' device below waterproof pan, ring-necked cock, walnut full stock, brass furniture including unusual throat pipe, dome butt cap with short side ears, the trigger guard bow engraved 'Q.O.R' over 'Y.C.' over '231' and captive iron ramrod with pan head, crisp action on both half & full cock. Note: a similar pistol to the QORYC numbered '50' is shown on page 5-17 of British Single Shot Pistol's by Davies, Chisnall & Brook. Scarce
