Trafalgar Memorabilia: a strip of coarse canvas, 13" x 1¾" with old ink written note "Piece of the mainsail of H.M. Ship "Victory" which had 18 holes in it from cannon balls at battle of Trafalgar. Presented to Harry Bowater June 21st 1909 by Mrs Topley Chichester". Good Condition; and a 19" x 6" fragment of oak reputedly from HMS Victory pierced by a pointed 10" length of improvised copper bar shot. Plate 18 (2)
