A BRITISH EMPIRE GROUP OF FOUR NURSING MEDALS TO A SERVING SISTER. A group of four comprising Member of the Order of the British Empire, 2nd type on civilian ribbon, Order of St John Serving Sister breast badge on lady's bow, Defence Medal and Voluntary Medical Service Medal with Second award bar named to Mrs Julie N. Best, mounted as worn. With a British Red Cross Society enamel badge. The Order of the British Empire was announced in the Gazette on the 1st January 1958 to Mrs Julie Noreen Best Staff Officer Headquarters Hospital Welfare Department. Born in 1927 at Hailsham. Her husband served with the 1st Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment. Mounted for display with copied research.
