Peugeot & Lion-Peugeot 1889 - 1939. Six folders. The earlier motor-cars are represented by a good collection of both period and later postcards, some end prints, some with stamps and greetings, a few copy images of early cars, for example C. Rolls in a vehicle. Some images are from Argent Archer full-plate glass negatives, interesting domestic scenes, some cabinet card types, some photographs laid to card. The 1907-1912 period folder covers more sophisticated images, again with a good collection of postcards and well-defined half-plate style photographs. Included is a file for Lion-Peugeot 1906-1913, also with a similar selection of postcards and photographs, to include competition vehicles. The vintage period includes coach-built cars by Rothschild, Eugene Boulogne, Currus, Labourdette, and others, together with a selection of competition and racing cars. The post-vintage period includes photographs of showrooms, motor show stands, street scenes and personalities, unusual body-styles and publicity handouts. Many with manuscript or typed captions. A significant archive. (6)
