A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE MANCHESTER REGIMENT. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 55041 Pte J.H.E. Crisp Manch R. John Herbert Edward Crisp was the son of John William and Phoebe Louise Crisp of Leinster Villa, 57 Church Road, Bexleyheath, Kent. He served with the 21st (Service) Battalion (6th City) Manchester Regiment. His date of death is uncertain being recorded as between 4th and 10th October 1918, he is buried at Bellicourt British Cemetery, his headstone reads 'Until the day Break and the shadows flee away', he was 23 years old. *CR Normal light surface marks. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
