WW2 British Empire Medal (Civil) 1939-1945, Atlantic Stars, Defence Medal and BWM to A.B. George Alexandra Frame very fine or better. His BEM was announced in the London gazette dated 31st March 1942, "The ship was sailing alone when she struck a mine. She was so damaged she sank within twenty minutes. Frame carried a wounded man on his back to a boat and, with help, lowered him to safety. He then returned to succour another member of the crew. He showed courage without regard for his own safety."
With copied LG and hand written research notes, the ship was the SS Fireglow which sank off the East Coast on 8th December 1941. (See photo) (R)
