Former Bristol Zoo Gardens - Elephant Tower (2002-2022) - the original bronze plaque that once adorned the Elephant Tower memorial to Wendy the elephant in Bristol Zoo Gardens. Originally intended as a sculpture, when Wendy passed away in September 2002, the piece became her memorial. Measures approx 24cm x 37cm. 'Elephant Tower - Wendy, the Asian elephant, died on 12th September 2002, aged 42. She lived at Bristol Zoo for over 40 years, and was much loved. This sculpture was created by Philip Bews in 2003 from a cedar of Lebanon, and is modelled on Wendy.'
