1864 SURCHARGED MAIL; 21 July 1864 envs. (both with defects and/or few repairs) to Scotland or London franked 1/- Diadem + pair 2d DLR tied by Hinton '127' ray numerals or 6d Diadem (2 - both cut to shape) and pair 2d DLR (defective) and representing the single 10d rate plus 6d surcharge (double British ship letter rates from 1.7.1864 to 14.11.1864). Carried on the Northam or Bombay to Galle and one with "CR" Scottish TPO h.s. on front.
