Ireland. Visit to Ireland by Queen Victoria 1900. Maker Edmund Johnson Grafton st. Dublin. Struck in Dublin during the south African war, to commemorate the visit to Ireland by the Queen and as a mark of recognition for the Irish soldiers and Irish regiments that were fighting with distinction in South Africa. These coins were awarded to those members of the police forces on duty at Queen Victorias varios engagements during her visit to Ireland 1900. 32mm struck in bronze. As struck with much lustre and iridescence. Very rare.
