Ebony and brass octant, navigational instrument, c. early 19th century. Complete with all filters and sighting fittings, lacks makers brass plate and scale, 35cm x 29cm. Recovered from a shipwreck on the Isles of Scilly c1890 by a prominent Scillonian pilot, and found in his attic following his death.
