William Noel Cowan was awarded The British Empire Medal as a carpenter in the Merchant Navy in the London Gazette dated 4th January 1943.
With original 1942 letter advising him he was to be awarded the BEM, Central Chancery letter to investiture to be held at Buckingham Palace on 6th July 1942, ticket to the investiture, 1953 Coronation Medal document and envelope of issue addressed to him at 41 Durley Rd, Liverpool, Admiralty WW2 transmission slip showing 8 medals/emblems issued and Birkenhead Mercantile Marine Office Campaign Stars slip confirming 5 medals here but also clasps to Africa, Atlantic and Burma Stars. Missing BEM, 1953 Coronation and some WW2. (R)
