A Royal Crown Derby part dinner service in the red ‘Aves’ pattern, comprising: four twin handled soup bowls, eight stands, and ten dinner plates, 27.5cm diameter, printed maker’s marks for 1951-1967; with three Royal Crown Derby twin handled soup bowls and stands in the ‘Chandos’ pattern, and a further Royal Crown Derby twin handled soup bowl (29) (at fault)
Three Aves stands show fine surface crazing. The dinner plates show varying degrees of wear and strength to the pattern. One Chandos pattern bowl shows a repair, and the remaining bowl shows a hairline crack. All pieces show age-related surface wear and rubbing to the gilt highlights.
