CAMPAIGN TO RECAPTURE KHARTOUM: 2½d unpaid Officers letter to England, signed by Malcolm Peake, Captain and endorsed "No stamps/Active service", having a very fine"WADI-HALFA/CAMP" c.d.s (7 Feb. 1897) and fine boxed "T" adjacent a London "I.B'/2½d" charge mark. Backstamped Cairo & London. Capt. Peake (R.A.), later held the rank of El Bimbashi (Major), Egyptian Army and was in charge of four Field Batteries at the Battle of Omdurman. He later took part in incidents at Fashoda and the expedition to track down the Khalifa in Kordofan. Attractive & fine.
