A 1914-15 STAR TO A CASUALTY WITH THE SPORTSMAN'S BATTALION. A 1914-15 Star named to 3345 Pte M. Teglio R. Fus. With a Lady Cuinliffe-Owen silver medal number 3345. Born on the 10th September 1895, Max Teglio enlisted into the 24th (Service)(2nd Sportsman's) Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers. After four months as a Private he was selected for Officer training being commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant with the Devonshire Regiment, later with the 9th Battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment in Mesopotamia. He died on the 11th April 1917 and is commemorated on the Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, he was 21 years old. Mounted for display with copied research.
