A MID 19TH CENTURY SCRIMSHAW-WORK POCKET WATCH HOLDER inscribed on the base 'Ship Baron' in marine ivory, ebony and whales teeth centred by a mother-of pearl inlaid eye; scratch engraved decoration depiciting the American flag and a half-nude lady holding an anchor above a circular watch holder; raised on love-heart shaped feet initialled on reverse J.H.A and dated 1852 Boston.
