A Swiss singing bird automaton music box by Reuge, model number 2692, designed as a singing bird with moving beak and wings upon a gilt filigree base beneath a gilt oval cover, set to a burr walnut case, 12cm W x 7.5cm D x 4cm H
The piece appears functional, the bird rotating, flapping its wings and moving its beak while tweeting. The gilt cover shows surface wear including some fine surface scratching, and would benefit from cleaning. The case shows minor surface wear and would benefit from cleaning.
