A Regency rosewood lap desk or writing box. With fret cut brass banding and inlay, the eagle topped ornate cartouche engraved 'Sophia Ne m'oubliez pas', with fold-out writing surface with ornately tooled skiver, the interior fitted a lift out tray, compartments and two concealed drawers, height 11.5cm, width 40.5cm, depth 25cm The top lift up panel is not currently attached and will need some attention, brass inlay is lifting in areas, and losses to rosewood veneers and some possible replacement veneers.
