An 18ct gold open-faced pocket watch the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, blued-steel spade hands and a subsidiary seconds dial, the three-quarter plate movement having a lever escapement with an engraved backcock to the plain gold balance and numbered 42/296, the case having engine-turned decoration to the rear and hallmarked within and to the inner cuvee for 18ct gold, London 1849 along with the initials CR within an oval for the casemaker, possibly Charles Rawlings, diameter 46mm, gross weight c.64.78gs.
