A CAPTAIN'S FULL DRESS UNIFORM FOR THE ROYAL NAVY


supplied by Gieves, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd and comprising full dress coatee; a pair of epaulettes; sword belt and frogging, and shoulder aiguillette, epaulettes and belting contained within fitted Toleware tin; together with an associated bicorn hat for the Royal Indian Marines in shaped tolewrare tin

The coatee is named for Capt. George Arthur Scott (1888-1960), Captain of H.M.S. Belfast 1939-40 and whose medals were sold via Mssrs Dix, Noonan & Webb, 4th April 2001. He was serving about H.M.S. Severn during its engagements with S.M.S. Konigsburg in July 1915; The Bicorn hat and epaulettes are named for P.C.H. Lane of the Royal Indian Marines.

Coatee in good condition but lining partially parted from seams but no evidence of moth; bicorn hat in very poor condition with old wears and tears.
