Traction Engine driver's 1899 QSA 4 clasps Cape Colony, OFS, Transvaal, South Africa 1902 and 1914 Star trio to 6699 2 Cpl R.E. Morgan R.E. (L.Corpl on QSA, Spr on Star), QSA with edge bruising and contact marks thus fair, trio very fine. Ralph Edward Morgan died after discharge on 11/5/19, possibly malaria related and is buried in Hartshill Cemetery, Warwickshire and listed in CWGC.
With 10 copied pages of service record, CWGC, MIC and rolls, he was born in Dunstable, enlisted 13/9/00, served South Africa 27/3/02 to 27/8/04, to AR 3/9/04, mobilised 5/8/14, landed France 14/8/14 with 56th Coy, suffered GSW to scalp 15/2/15, returned to UK 22/2/15, to Salonika 26/10/15 33rd Base Coy where he was overhauling and testing traction engines before they were issued to units, admitted to hospital with malaria 20/7/16, returned to UK 18/5/18, discharged 7/1/19 and died 4 months later.
