1920s: French Art Deco bronze medal (50 mm dia.) by Edouard Chassaing showing on one side two naked male fencers and on the other a naked female fencer with the inscription Federation parisienne d’escrimeurs, in a case. [Edouard Chassaing (1895-1974) was awarded two gold medals at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. He emigrated to the USA in 1927 and became a professor at the Art Institute of Chicago.
