A Japanese parquetry and specimen-wood cabinet - c.1900, the rectangular top with fretwork gallery, veneered with geometric parquetry panels and randomly shaped specimen-wood veneers, over five drawers and a cupboard with two sliding panelled doors to the front, veneered with a variety of parquetry decoration, the drawers with the original swing brasses, the sides and back in geometric diamond veneers, raised on outset column supports with incised decoration and bud finials, on turned beehive feet. (LWH 76 x 50 x 80 cm)

* Appears to be in largely original condition overall. The top is faded and has a few pieces of veneer which are lifting slightly to the corner. The right hand gallery piece has an old repaired break. The handles are all original and securely fixed, as are the metal corner mounts. Four of the five drawer fronts have bowed slightly and stand a little proud at each end. There are a few sections of veneer to the left side panel which have lifted slightly. The drawers are sliding cupboard front all open smoothly.
