Glasgow & New York Steamship Co., 1858 (Mar 6) Entire letter to Schleswig, with Davenport, Iowa c.d.s, carried on the steamer "New York" to Glasgow, prepaid 25c, with "23 / NEW YORK AM. PKT", Aachen and Hamburg datestamps, various German rates. Central fold and minor faults but unusual. The "New York" was lost on the Mull of Kintyre in June 1858 and the company was dissolved in 1859.
