WW2 / Early Post War. 3rd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Wood Grip Fighting knife.
good example. The hilt with ring wood turned grip and oval crossguard. Double edged, spear point, plain, 175mm blade. Housed in dark brown leather scabbard with elasticated retaining strap, rounded chape and with tangs removed. The scabbard has been fitted into a British 1944 pattern web bayonet frog.
The vendor believes this knife was carried by Pilot Officer Cann RAF who served in Burma, Palestine, Korea and Suez. Not Confirmed by Bosleys.
