Private collection. The vendor's family had contacted the artist after the purchase, and he replied with: "It's actually of a place quite near Bristol where I'm based. I often go out drawing in the countryside around Bristol and Bath or down towards Devon and Cornwall. The name of the village if I remember rightly is Lower Stanton St Quintin, it's just East of Bath. I was drawn to it mainly because of the way the row of houses sat amidst this large expanse of open fields and blue sky."
