An 1885 pattern cavalry trooper’s sword, blade 34½” dated “4/86” and “/91” and stamped with broad arrow over “WD”, “YC” and inspector’s marks, with regulation pattern steel hilt, the guard stamped “4/92”, “8H 418” (partly struck out), small H over 200, and faint traces of other marks. GC, the blade clean (light surface rust on the inside of the guard, no scabbard). £80-120
