SL March Hare (grey version) - very rare, from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland - Pelham Puppets SL Range, solid head, red features, felt ears, small composite hands with closed fingers, metal strip knee joints, string above knees, wearing a large green bow tie, blue shirt, green jacket, green and white stripped trousers, black feet, boxed, late 1940's/mid 1950's Gill Leaper was a master carver who went to work Pelham in 1949. His heads were outstanding with close attention to the feature details. Unfortunately he died in a road accident in 1957
