English School (early 19th century), a portrait silhouette, of John Rees as a student, later the Rev. John Rees-Mogg (1772-1835) of Cholwell, Cameley, Somerset, bust-length and in profile, the young gentleman-scholar wears a mortarboard, oval, black watercolour and picked out in gilt, 9cm x 7cm, the picture mounted and framed as mourning relic with a lock of hair and the subject's autograph signature, manuscript biographical notice to verso, the whole 21.5cm x 14cm, c. 1835
