George III silver patent rack lever pocket watch, by Arthur Briars, Chester, hallmarked Chester 1818, plain outer case, white enamelled dial, the back plate signed and numbered 277, sapphire and diamond end stone, 57mm diameter, with dust cover; also George III silver hunter pocket watch, London 1812, the case worked with hunting scenes (worn), enamelled dial with subsidiary seconds, the movement signed 'John Linkinson, Doncaster', with hack function, sapphire and diamond end stone, 54mm diameter (2)

More Information

Briars: Very minor surface scratches and knocks to the outer case commensurate with age. The inner case is later inscribed 'J Swindley', now worn and with scratches through the name. Wear at the outer edge of the inner case. The watch ticks when wound.
Linkinson: Watch currently ticks when wound. The case is worn to holes on the back cover.
